Upper School - Bridges
The Upper
School (ages 15-21) is designed to prepare students to become contributing
members of the community, living independently according to their potential.
Bridges (ages 15 - 18) is designed to meet the unique academic and social needs
of adolescents with developmental disabilities. In addition to core academics,
the program emphasizes career exploration and social skills development.
Participation in off-site community-based training helps develop self-confidence
and appropriate work habits in a supervised environment.
Social activities are also used as a teaching opportunity, guiding the students
in appropriate peer interaction and correct manners. Career exploration sites
cover many different vocational interests offering the students a varied
experience.
In addition to the academic and vocational training, students participate in
sports, dances, sleepovers, campouts, choir and plays.
