As the school year comes to a close, our minds and hearts are filled to the brim. It’s been a great year! A newsletter will be sent out next week recapping some of the highlights of the year.
Special thanks to all of you who have contributed to the success of our school year. We could not keep our doors open without the generous support of time and talent from our parents and community volunteers. I’d like to thank in a special way Jane Martin and Jann Harrell for co-chairing our HSA this year, their commitment was unsurpassed. Thank you to Maureen Tignor for agreeing to co-chair the HSA for the coming year. Parents, she will need your support so please consider your gifts and how you might be able to help.
We offer best wishes to Ms. Francine, our beloved secretary, who is retiring this year after 12 years of loyal service; and to Ms. Whirley who will be leaving us to return to graduate school. They have given us so many gifts, they will be remembered in our thoughts and prayers in the coming years.
Please continue to work with your students this summer: read to them, have them count the change in the change jar, help them to make choices and order when you are out to eat, encourage good social skills with eye contact and slow and clear speech. Our community offers so many learning opportunities and I encourage you to use them. Also Ms. Rush has a regular post on FACEBOOK recommending ipad apps that your students can use at home as a learning tool.
I am attaching next year’s calendar please note that a couple of the dates have changed, the back to school pool party had to be moved up because the pools are closing early this year. Yes, the first day of school is August 20th.
Until then, enjoy a restful and replenishing summer with your families! God Bless you all.
